Saturday Afternoon Classes

S-PM-1 Saturday Afternoon 1:30PM-5:30PM Location: C2


It's Raining Cats and Dogs

Instructor: Fonda Haddad

Skill Level: All

Cost: Members: $40.00  Non-Members: $45.00


Description: Using a large (pre-cleaned and cut) Snake Gourd we will create a rain stick.   Students will prepare the inside with a stairway of sticks, add sound elements and create an instrument.


Students Must Bring: Instructor will supply all necessary materials.

The Wild Rose Basket

Instructor: Jim Anspach

Skill Level: All

Cost: Members: $65.00  Non-Members: $70.00


Description: Students will receive a painted prepared gourd bowl with a beautiful decoupaged wild rose pattern on the inside.  they will learn to weave with round reed on this spoked gourd, a few types of weaving and end with a beautiful sturdy rim.


Students Must Bring: apron and old towel

S-PM-3 Saturday Afternoon 1:30PM-5:30PM Location: P5


Autumn Leaves

Instructor: Ana Poma

Skill Level: Beginner/Intermediate

Cost: Members: $90.00  Non-Members: $95.00


Description: The student will learn to burn with a torch, then we will design and carve the leaves and give a creative finish to our vase.


Students Must Bring: Dremel or micro pro master carver, different bits, mask and apron 

S-PM-4 Saturday Afternoon 1:30PM-5:30PM Location: P1


Double Rose Pryography

Instructor: Troy Tatum

Skill Level: All

Cost: Members: $50.00  Non-Members: $55.00


Description: Get out your woodburner and let's have some fun. Whether you are new to woodburning or are an experienced woodburner, this class will improve your woodburning and you will leave with a beautiful gourd. This class will guide you step by step through the creation of the double rose. We will woodburn the outline and border, shade the rose and color the background to create this stunning woodburned rose pattern..


Students Must Bring: A variable temperature woodburner with a skew and all your shading pens (I like a small 1/16 ball for the shading in this class) is all you need for an enjoyable afternoon.

S-PM-5 Saturday Afternoon 1:30PM-5:30PM Location: P2


Dragon/ Dragonfly

Instructor: Debbie Wilson

Skill Level: All

Cost: Members: $40.00  Non-Members: $45.00


Description: You have a choice of either a dragon or an dragonfly for this pyrography project, but you receive both patterns to enjoy. We will burn the design and then use gel pens to enhance the design.  These  designs will be done burned onto  a sanded cannonball gourd that is uncut. Use of shading and making backgrounds that are interesting will be emphasized. 


Students Must Bring: A woodburner  with a heat controlled adjuster, small ball, medium ball, skew, flat or bent  shader, apron, a ceramic cup if you have a burner that does not have a stand. 

S-PM-8 Saturday Afternoon 1:30PM-5:30PM Location:C4


Wooly Pine Wreath

Instructor: Susan Nonn

Skill Level: All

Cost: Members: $45.00  Non-Members: $50.00


Description: Create a unique wreath of pine cones on a grapevine wreath. Embellish the wreath with berry twigs, glitter, and/or small red Tennessee spinners intersperse between the pine branches.


Students Must Bring: Instructor will provide everything.
