A group of Floridians interested in growing and crafting gourds got together and formed the Florida Gourd Society, Inc. Actually, we're the Lambda Chapter of the American Gourd Society - one of twenty-three such state chapters in the U.S. having the common goal of enjoying and promoting gourding as a hobby.

SEMINAR–SEPTEMBER 17-18,2008 Power Carving Seminars:
This
course is designed to serve the needs of beginning through experienced
carvers. Information will be
provided on everything from carving safety to types of carving tools and
accessories. You will learn
tips and techniques for using your power rotary tool to carve sand
ripples, basic relief carving with a textured background, and carving for
stone and channel inlay. Beginners
will go home feeling comfortable using their carving tool, and even
experienced carvers will learn some useful shortcuts that will make
carving faster or easier. The instructor will spend plenty of time answering questions
and providing individual attention.
Bring a power
rotary tool (Dremel or other brand) and any burs and accessories you have
on hand. Suitable carving burs will be available for purchase at the
class. Bring a good quality
dust mask or purchase one at class. If
you have a power strip and extension cord please bring them, so we will
have enough for everyone.
A prepared
gourd will be included in the price of the seminar.

If I do not have your money by June 1st, I will notify the next person in line that there is a space available. There are NO REFUNDS, however, you can resell your spot if you are unable to make it but you must notify us if you do so.
